Luận án Nghiên cứu mối quan hệ giữa cam kết của nhà quản trị cấp cao, các hoạt động quản trị nhân sự và cam kết với tổ chức của người lao động tại các công ty may Việt Nam

Một nghiên cứu thông thường được tiến hành dưới hai dạng: đề xuất một kiến thức mới (inductive approach) hoặc kiểm định một kiến thức đã có (deductive approach). Theo Bryman (2008) thì cả hai loại hình nghiên cứu kể trên đều có đóng góp quan trọng như nhau. Trong luận án này, tác giả sử dụng loại thứ hai nhằm kiểm định ảnh hưởng của cam kết của nhà quản trị cấp cao, các hoạt động quản trị nhân sự đến ba hình thức cam kết với tổ chức của người lao động. Các nghiên cứu thời gian gần đây chủ yếu xoay quanh hai phương pháp nghiên cứu chủ yếu: nghiên cứu định tính và nghiên cứu định lượng. Hai loại hình nghiên cứu này dựa trên các giả thiết hoàn toàn khác biệt. Theo Bryman (2008) thì nghiên cứu định lượng thường được dùng để kiểm định các kiến thức đã có trong khi đó nghiên cứu định tính thường tập trung vào việc đề xuất các nền tảng kiến thức mới. Cũng trong nghiên cứu này, Bryman đã khẳng định rằng nghiên cứu định lượng thừa kế toàn bộ phương pháp thực hiện cũng như các chỉ báo của một mô hình khoa học. Neuman (2006) cũng cho rằng các nhà nghiên cứu định lượng theo đuổi một lối mòn về hồi quy và thường đề cập đến các giả thuyết.
