Các nghiên cứu đã chỉ ra sự bất ổn chính trị hay những xung đột bạo lực đều gây ra tác động tiêu cực cho tăng trưởng. Không một nhà đầu tư nào muốn hoạt động trong môi trường chính trị bất ổn, khi mà không ai có thể chắc chắn rằng ngày mai họ còn giữ được tài sản của mình hay không. Bạo lực và chiến tranh thì đương nhiên dẫn tới suy giảm và còn gây khủng hoảng cho cả nền kinh tế, các quốc gia như Ai Cập, Syria, Ukraina là những minh chứng rõ ràng nhất cho những ảnh hưởng này. Vì vậy, trong xu thế của toàn thế giới, ổn định chính trị và duy trì hòa bình là mục tiêu của tất cả các quốc gia. Các quốc gia cần hành động trên một mục tiêu chung để hướng tới hòa bình, thịnh vượng bằng cách tránh đối đầu vũ trang, giải quyết các bất đồng thông qua phương pháp đàm phán, đối thoại, tôn trọng chế độ chính trị của nhau
